STUDIO TARNAI
Studio Tarnai is a creative platform for different mediums of art and design to coexist through a common message. It functions as space that is open for collaboration and cross cultural exchange.
Studio Tarnai aims to highlight Black and Brown artist’s through various projects to ensure that their voices are heard and visible.
The Studio is a living archive of work with two current segments; poetry and fashion. Studio Tarnai offers poetic works by Zselyke Zoya Tárnai as well as garments by the contemporary design label ZOYA TARNAI.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Zselyke Zoya Tárnai is a multidisciplinary artist who is born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and currently resides in Berlin. She studied fashion design in both Copenhagen as well as in Berlin. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design at Akademie Mode Design Berlin in 2022.
Zselyke also works as a customer designer, such as her work in the film Indigo which won the Interfilm Germam Special Film prize in 2023. Alongside her fashion design work, she writes and performs poetry and is currently working on her second book.
Zselyke began writing poetry at a young age, making her publishing debut in the anthology “Making The Trees Shiver” in 2011. She then began her journey as a spoken word artist in 2017, performing in Copenhagen, Berlin and NYC. In 2018 Zselyke self published a collection of poetry called the “Woman of Strength”.
“I think a question that I have always asked myself and will continue to ask myself is ‘How can we as artists use our platforms and our work to properly uplift, empower and give voice to marginalized groups?’
